The Knitting Life project explores computer generated designs in the context of historical Fair Isle knitting. This exhibition looks at Madeleine Shepherd's inspiration and design process that produced this collection of wall hangings and fashion accessories. The result is a mathematically rigorous tribute to the knitting traditions of Shetland and Fair Isle. The research for Knitting Life was funded by the Connected Innovators programme of Creative Informatics, University of Edinburgh and Creative Edinburgh.
