THE NOOK

  • Coburg House Art Studios 15 Coburg Street Edinburgh, Scotland, EH6 6ET United Kingdom (map)

Tucked just beyond the main gallery at Coburg House, The Nook brings together five studio holders whose practices quietly unfold behind the scenes, now stepping into focus.

This intimate exhibition reveals a rich dialogue between material, place, and process. Jewellery makers Fiona Luing, Rebekah McVitie, and Beth Lamont each transform their chosen mediums with distinct sensitivity: recycled silver reimagined through Fiona’s considered forms, Rebekah’s sea glass and hand-formed beads carrying the memory of the shore, and Beth’s porcelain pieces marked by clean, contemporary gestures of colour.

Alongside them, Sara Beevers’ paintings and prints trace the rhythms of nature: swifts in motion, shifting landscapes, and moments of quiet human presence. While Evie Rose Thornton’s expansive works capture the drama of coastal light, where colour gathers and disperses in bold, atmospheric bursts.

The Nook invites you to step closer, to discover not only finished works but the spirit of the studios themselves. Across two weekends, visitors will also have the chance to enter the artists’ working spaces, offering a rare glimpse into the environments where these ideas take shape.
