Artwork by Marion Reynolds

The Colour Red explores how one colour can hold countless perspectives. It brings together work by Coburg House artists who have responded to red in their own way. Some embrace its intensity through vivid colour and energetic mark making, while others use it more subtly as a symbol, a memory or a moment of focus. Across painting, printmaking, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and mixed media, each work offers a different perspective on what red can communicate.

Rather than presenting a single interpretation, The Colour Red celebrates the richness and versatility of this extraordinary colour. Together, these works reveal how one simple starting point can inspire an exhibition full of contrast, emotion and individuality.
