James Donald’s handwoven textiles are inspired by a combination of traditional craftsmanship, slow fashion principles and a fascination with colour, texture and structure.

Working from his Edinburgh studio under the PickOne label, he draws influence from Scottish wool traditions, Japanese textile practices such as Sashiko stitching, and his travels, including the vibrant colours and light of Gran Canaria in Spain.

His work celebrates the tactile qualities of cloth, combining innovative weave structures with a deep appreciation for handmade, sustainable textiles.
