Christina creates jewellery inspired by nature. Her collection for this spotlight will be work made using silver clay, wire and stones. Drawing in 3d with steel or silver wire to create structures onto which she models organic forms with the clay and then welds on pearls and semi-precious stones. To create jewellery and small scale precious sculptures.
Silver clay lends itself extremely well to creating natural looking forms and textures. It gives Christinas work an organic feel. It is also really easy to use because it is so soft. Making it the perfect material for beginners. Silver jewellery can be produced using very few tools and with no previous experience. Christina teaches a range of Silver Clay workshops at her studio here at Coburg House.
