Neep Risoprint by Jennifer Colquhoun

15.00

This natural history-inspired risograph print by Jennifer Colquhoun shows off the humble neep, or turnip, that orange vegetable so commonly served up with haggis and tatties. Sometimes it's put it stews. It's rarely revered. That is, until now.

Risoprinted using soya-based inks onto recycled, off-white sugar paper.

The illustration and design were created by Jennifer Colquhoun, and printed by an Edinburgh-based social enterprise (who use soya-based inks and recycled paper stock). The print is a modern take on the traditional natural history illustration and is perfect for bringing some fluorescence into your kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, den, hall, porch...

Riso printing is a fast, eco-friendly print process developed in Japan. The print process is similar to screenprinting – with each colour printed as a separate layer. This gives you an individual print each time, although substantially cheaper than traditional screenprinting since the print process is super speedy.

The print is taken from an original biro illustration by Jennifer Colquhoun.
