Elspeth J Mackenzie paints coastal life in Scotland from inside it. As a rower, she is drawn to the moments around St Ayles Skiff rowing - the gathering on the shore; the unity of the crew; the rhythm and flow of weather and tide. Her work reflects the shared sense of belonging that comes with life by the coast.
