spotlight 10 - Manuela Lyle

Manuela creates jewellery and other curiosities with precious metals, sometimes incorporating other materials such as stones, antique beads, lace, brass, perspex or wood.

She is fascinated with stories, both true and imagined, and the rich world of symbolism and deeper meaning that they explore. Her pieces are almost like portable amulets of light and hope.

Nature, with all its beauty and visual parables, is a never ending source of awe from which she draws her creations.

Each work an exploration of her colourful imagination... some are even pieces that she dreamt of.

You will see traces of her love of books, folklore, mystery and her walks in the woods.

While some pieces are recognisable symbols, other works have an ambiguity that leaves space for the viewer to interpret in their own way. Manuela loves to let the imagination of the wearer to wander... and in doing so you become part of the story.
