Montse Herrera
Meet the Artist…
Montse Herrera was born in Barcelona and studied Mural Painting at La Llotja Arts & Craft College and Fine Arts at the Barcelona University.
Even though she create’s abstract paintings, the colour and the organic shapes are her principal interest, and the influence of the landscape is very present in all her works.
In 2015 Montse moved to Edinburgh attracted by the different lights and colours in Scotland, and how they offer her a different vision of the world, they open her a new window of expression. She is interested in the relationship between landscape, body, feelings and memory, and is looking for to create an interaction, a dialogue, between her work and the viewer’s and their own memories.
