Meet the Artist…
Donald works with ink, paint, and plaster on paper, board and canvas using as much recycled materials as possible to assemble his compositions which (often) have relief/collage elements.
Donald collects inspirations from everywhere: the city, Leith and the harbour, to the lochs, mountains and glens of Sutherland. He is motivated by music, from Amadeus to Zawinul, and takes inspiration from the Flow Country where he was born. His work might even be influenced by some graffiti on a canal bridge in Fountainbridge near his Bruntsfield home.
