Remake and re-create is the foundation in my thought process.
Within our daily lives we are surrounded by a plethora of material and this is where my hunting ground begins. I actively pursue products from our past and present to deconstruct and reimagine into contemporary jewellery for the future which still has an element that references its mid-century roots.
The Tablewear Collection begins its new life from a myriad of vintage trays predominately from the 1950-1980s. Usually outdated, unwanted and relegated to lurking in charity shops or in some forgotten cupboard in Granny’s house. It brings back familial, nostalgic memories that are hidden within the melamine graphic print and this connection is made by the realisation of the history behind the original material.
